Who we are
Our website address is: https://consentpress.com.
ConsentPress is developed and maintained by ICREATOR B.V.
Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site (for example, feedback or support-related comments), we collect the data shown in the comment form, as well as the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string. This information is used to help detect and prevent spam.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to check whether you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy can be found at: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After your comment is approved, your profile picture is visible to the public next to your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website, avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Cookies
ConsentPress uses cookies to manage and remember user consent preferences and to provide functionality. Below is how cookies are used:
- Commenter convenience: If you leave a comment, you may opt in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to re-enter your details when you leave another comment. These cookies last for one year.
- Login-related cookies: If you visit our login page, we set a temporary cookie to determine whether your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we set cookies to save your login information and screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for one year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login persists for two weeks. Logging out removes login cookies. - Post editing: If you create or edit a post, an additional cookie is saved in your browser. This cookie contains no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited; it expires after one day.
- Consent management: ConsentPress shows a cookie banner and stores your choices (analytics, marketing, functional, etc.) in local storage or cookies so that your preferences persist across visits. Those preferences are used to conditionally load tracking scripts and pixels only when consent is granted.

Embedded content from other websites
Articles or demo content on this site may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, widgets). Embedded content from other websites behaves as if the visitor directly visited that other site.
These third-party sites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content — including tracking your interaction if you have an account and are logged into that third-party service.
Tracking & Pixels (GTM, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.)
ConsentPress allows integration with tools like Google Tag Manager, Facebook Pixel, and LinkedIn Insight. These integrations are subject to your consent choices.
- ConsentPress uses the consent preferences you provide to gate loading of tracking tags/pixels.
- Consent state is communicated to Google Tag Manager via the
dataLayer
event (cpc_consent_update
) and uses consent mode parameters (e.g.,analytics_storage
,ad_storage
,functionality_storage
). - Only when you grant consent (e.g., for analytics or marketing) will the respective tags be activated.
- Third-party services associated with those pixels/containers may collect data independently according to their own policies.
Who we share your data with
- Spam detection: Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
- External database (optional): If configured, consent logs can be stored in an external database; this requires connection credentials you provide in configuration.
- Third-party tracking services: Only when consent is given for the relevant categories (analytics/marketing) will data be shared with integrated services like Google Analytics, Facebook, LinkedIn via their pixels or GTM containers.
If you request a password reset (where applicable), your IP address will be included in the reset email for security purposes.
How long we retain your data
- Comments and their metadata are retained indefinitely. This allows automatic recognition and approval of follow-up comments without moderation.
- For registered users (if any), we store the personal information they provide in their user profile. Users can view, edit, or delete their personal information at any time, except their username. Site administrators may also view or edit this information.
- Consent logs (including IP address, hashed user ID, preferences, user agent, and domain) are retained according to the retention period set in the plugin settings (configurable, with safe defaults). Logs older than that period are cleaned up automatically via scheduled cleanup routines.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can:
- Request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided.
- Request that we erase any personal data we hold about you, subject to any legal obligations to retain certain information.
Requests can be submitted via the contact method listed below.
Where your data is sent
- Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
- Consent data may be sent to external databases if configured.
- Integration partners (e.g., GTM, Facebook, LinkedIn) may receive data consistent with the consent granted.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your data. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure. Use of the website indicates acknowledgement of these inherent risks.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Significant changes will be communicated through the site or upon next login/visit.
